Thank you

I wish to thank you,

for being there,

for holding me while I cry.

I wish to thank you,

for telling me no,

that I was not good enough.

For telling me that no matter how hard I try;

it will never be good enough.

Thank you for keeping me grounded.

I wish to thank you,

for telling me it will be okay,

even when we both knew it wouldn't be.

I wish to thank you,

for telling me I was worthless,

to never reach for the stars.

I wish to thank you,

for telling me to silent,

that making him mad was a bad idea.

I wish to thank you,

for telling me my very existence,

was a burden I never asked for.

I wish to thank you,

for telling me it will be okay,

for making me laugh when it's not;

and for always reminding me that home is where the heart is.
