Thank You

To: You

Hi Stranger. It’s been a while.

Eight months, in fact.

Crazy.

I don’t miss any of it.

You hurt me.

There – I said it.

I’m trying to forgive you.

I’m trying to Let Go.

The first words of our first year,

Were how Nobody liked me.

The last words of our last year…

I can’t remember.

I’m sorry.

I’m not the one who should apologize

But I’m Sorry;

Sorry for feeling everything too much.

I witnessed your transformation

From a friend to a Stranger,

And if I could go back to the day we met,

I would never even say hello.

I deleted your number a long time ago,

Along with every picture and every text

Because the pain of Hanging On

Is greater than the pain of Letting Go.

They say it’s easier to be the one

Who let’s go than to be the one who is let go.

And I guess that’s true

Because I’m feeling everything a lot less now.

Strangely enough, Thank You.

For tearing me down so I can build myself back up.

Because so many people travel their road

Thinking they want to die

When really, they’re desperate

To Live again.
