Thank you

There were times when I felt like no one understood

When I was afraid to speak

Like the words i so desperately wanted to be heard

Wouldn't  come out

That even if they did

It wouldn't matter

But Poetry...

I live in a world that glorifies loud voices

And ignores the soft

It silences the voices that need to speak the most

I neeed to speak

My Poetry...

It defied the social norm

It listened

It heard

It was heard

Always

Never silencing nor silenced

My poetry

It allowed me to let go

It allows me to speak

My Poetry

My remedy

My voice

MY POETRY

Taught me that though the world would try to silence me

And make me feel like nothing

That I am more

I always have been

everything

That my voice always mattered and needed to be heard

To never again let me be taken

To never let the world change me

My Poetry

Gave me power

Gave me, me

The me I thought I lost far too long ago

Thank you.
