Thank You

To my first love,

Thank you for the cuts and bruises, the scars that will never go away.

Thank you for the anger and frustration, for making me feel like a failure.

Thank you for the nights I fell asleep crying, beating me up and breaking me down.

Thank you for breaking my heart, over and over and over again.

But at the same time,

Thank you for teaching me what it means to have strength, what it means to persevere.

Thank you for believing in me, especially when nobody else did.

Thank you for being the smile on my face, my true happiness.

Thank you for never giving up on me, even though sometimes I wanted to give up on you.

Thank you for being my everything, my saving grace.

Thank you softball.
