Thank You

She wraps her arm around my shoulder, the warmth of her touch feels like the sun beaming down on me

Her face full of concern while she looks at me, she asks if I’m okay.

I can’t answer because of the tears that fill my eyes like a dam getting ready to break.

She comforts me until my tears turn to sniffles and my sniffles turn into smiles.

I slowly start to pour out my feelings like a pitcher of tea she’d make for me every Sunday.

Her comforting words send a wave of comfort to me and I relax,

she’s always been good at that.

She makes it seem like everything is going to be okay even if the world we live in is crumbling down

I get my first acceptance letter, her eyes start to fill with tears.

She’s inspired me to do better with my life,

she’s the reason I’ve gotten this letter.

Thank you for pushing me to do better for myself.
