Thank You, Beach

It’s a midsummer afternoon

I lay on my striped towel

The soft sand acts as my pillow

My skin soaks up the shining sun

But is cooled off by the fresh, salty breeze

I listen to the waves crashing onto shore

Seagulls chirping in search of food

My umbrella flapping in the wind

Easing me to pure relaxation

These senses warm my heart

Reminding me that I am home

There I lay, as peaceful and content as can be

While all my worries get washed out to sea

Dear beach,

Thank you for always being my happy place

And allowing me to feel free
