Thank You Dad

Standing tall, he surveys his farm.

This man whose DNA provided half of my DNA,

Looks upon his paradise and protects it from harm.

Beside him I look into the future, far away.

Down the road, I see myself traversing life,

Carrying with me the lessons he taught.

Stand firm in my beliefs during strife,

Do not allow your actions to be bought,

Always act with integrity,

In all things, take the high road,

Do not leave behind respect and honesty,

To these values he instructed me to never lose hold.

To the man who built my character,

Thank you.
