Thank You Dear Writer

In a state,

Of solitude

You were the one

I turned to.

No matter the time,

Or the place,

Your words always

Filled me with grace.

Phrases became pictures,

Making my thoughts fixture

On another world

Of warriors and freedom,

Coming together

To form a kingdom.

Together we fought

With the brave

And feasted on foods

That we craved.

We sang old melodies

That brought back

Fond memories

And we told

Great tales

Of our ancestors’ prevails.

We fought in battle

And with ambition

We would prattle

On to the days of victory,

As we made history.

Your words strengthened my mind

And in your stories

I did find

My own imagination;

My escape from normalization;

All due to your inspiration.

Though you passed

Before I had the chance

To be able to meet you

At first-glance,

You still remain

A mentor who taught

To never refrain

From your wildest thoughts.

And to writing your story,

Creating your world

In all of its glory.

Though you may be gone,

You are deeply missed

And I still do fawn

Over your tales.

Thank you,

Dear writer

Adieu.
