Thank You Mom

They say when people die,

The earth is sad,

Trees start wilting,

And grass goes bad.

Life never feels the same,

And love has no meaning.

The sun is gloomy,

The clouds cry,

The sky is gray,

And the ground never dries.

They say the deceased leave nothing behind.

But that's not true.

Just as kimberlite leaves diamonds,

And clams leave pearls,

You have left me.

Thank you Mom.
