Thankful For Everything
I rub sleep from my eyes
As I roll away from bed
The sunshine kisses
My forehead
Colors come into view
I see it all
The dust in the air
The paint on the walls
The feel of my clothes
The cold floor under my feet
Toes curl up
As I walk to the seat
Of the kitchen table
I say a little prayer
and I smell the roasted java
My heart beats faster
And I take a sip
Content
Picking up the fresh bread
And I dip
Sweet butter
on my tongue
I am blessed
I am loved
