Remember those slaves who paved the way.

The north and the south screamed their cause aloud.

The south sang slaves while the north put forth a core made for more.

After those fights, slaves won rights that went unrealized

Even the north made a torch untouched during Mrs. Parks’ course

Then came the king, who would sing about a dream that would let freedom ring.

Remember those proud crowds, fighting for what we have now.

Lives were spent, Laws were bent and black presidents were merely heaven sent.
What a wonder, how histories miseries gave us opportunities.

With yesterday’s truths being the reasons we get to choose,

and the only restraint being the one left in ones brain,

I would just like to say thanks.
