Thanks

A cold room but warm heart,

A hodgepodge cluster of nervous children,

But welcoming smiles brought the comfort we desperately needed.

Fun days and hard lessons made strangers a family.

You have touched so many lives and made futures happen;

You brought to my attention the unique beauty of pain and suffering amongst those that love you.

My life and love of science was forever changed,

The gears of my future turning and shifting evermore.

While preparing us for college, you prepared us for life with the profound wisdom that you shared;

An everlasting memory of love and warmth has become a constant in the minds of those who have known you,

And as the months dwindled, and you began to read the next chapter in your life, you began to help us write ours.

Thank you, for the months of happiness and fun, for the wisdom and the true love of a great mentor.

Thank you for nonjudgmental conversations and helping us learn you can lose a loved one without actual loss.
