Thanks to the Future
Dear Future Self,
I am sorry
For all the pain that you’ve been put through
For all the blue days
And the ones filled with scorn
I am sorry
For never making sure you were okay
For never asking for your wants and needs
I am sorry
For the days
In which we yelled at each other
The days we cried together
But I am thankful
For the days
That we pretended we were royalty
We pretended we were happy
We pretended we were vampires
And werewolves
And anything we could think of
I am thankful
For the days we played together
And for the days we told each other secrets
I am thankful
For the heartfelt stories we shared
I am thankful
For our parents
For our real friends
For our family
I am thankful
For you
I am thankful
That you made it so far
Without looking back
And picking up the broken pieces
I am thankful
That I know I have you
Love,
The You of The Past
