Thanks to my Nikes

There's something really wonderful

About not being able to breathe

About your muscles ripping

Tearing through your skin

About your lungs coming to

A searing boil

Under your ribs

About your entire body being pulled

Into the Earth's center.

And then

Air cool like water

Soothing your boiling lungs

Soothing your swollen skin

Returning to your own personal gravity

Being able to breathe again.
