Thanksgiving dinner

It's thanksgiving dinner the entire family gathers at my house

There's all kinds of food: Turkey, stuffing, cornbread, and even Brussels sprouts

We laugh, we talk, we catch up, Thanksgiving is always bittersweet

But the one thing that really brings the fam together are the words “IT'S TIME TO EAT!”

Well not really because every year I don't even get to sit with everyone

I'm always secluded from my big cousins because they say im too “young”

However this year, 2015 everything changed

The adults said “hey come sit over here” and I thought it was strange

But I didn't question I just took my seat and observed this new setting

The adults asked how I felt about the new seating, I became nervous and started sweating

I answered “I don't know” because honestly it was weird so I just sat back and drank from my cup

And my mom let me know “sweetie this is the first stage, a sign that your growing up”

And I realized she was right, I was getting to big to sit at the kids table

Although it was nice, we had capri sun, coke, and even cable!

But as I got older I realized why they separate the kids and the grown ups

Its because they could only afford to buy so many glass cups!
