That's Just Me.
I am
the quiet one
becuase my words never come out right
the overlooked
because I hide behind my books
the 'picked last in gym class'
because i can't run as fast or throw as far
the outsider looking in
becuase I never seem to fit in.
I am
the one who gets picked on
for having a brain in todays brainless society
the one who eats lunch alone
to avoid the glares and snide remarks
the one known as the 'teacher's pet'
becuase I was brought up to respect my superiors.
the kid everyone puts down and picks on
because I work hard for my education.
I am
the one who will succeed regardless
because I'm strong enough to ignore them
the one who will make something better of myself
even though they swear I'm going no where
the one who will overcome what they say
because what do they even matter anyways?
I am not
perfect
or fearless
or perfectly coordinated
But there's no other person I'd want to be
I am me.
