That's true love

I've heard songs of what love can do

it can hurt you 

it can scar you

but it can heal you too.

we do things out of love 

and believe we are right 

And even though we are wrong

it haunts us at night

i truly believe real love is out there

between the terrible people

who manipulate and fight.

Real love to me is not like the movies

and doesn't bring you chocolate 

when you're not right,

my true love covers me up 

when I sleep at night 

they give me a hug 

and tell me everything is alright 

every morning there's a text 

not in an obsessive way 

but only to encourage me to do my best

they understand

when I just want to be alone

but encourage me with words

over the phone

i don't think

true love is all about roses

or gifts.

its more about appreciation

and encouragement.

You can bring a person up 

with just a few words 

or crash them down 

by making them hurt 

their feelings you won't be able to fix 

and their heart will also be in bits 

so encourage each other out of love

maybe stop and give them a hug.

appreciate everything they do 

because at the end of the day 

all they have is you.
