That's Why

Do you think biting your nails is gross?

Well try biting your skin every single day.

I didn't like my skin,

How bad my cuticles are,

How badly my fingers bleed and the skin falls off.

My nails are short and dirty.

I feel like it looks disgusting.

So, I eat my skin.

That test tommorow, that's why

My in-laws coming over, that's why

Going to my job interview, that's why

Cleaning my room, that's why

Everyone with dermatophagia has an excuse.

I do too.

But the reason we do it is from stress and anxiety.

Anxiety, that's why.
