The Architecture of My Soul
I used to reorganize my entire existence
around the gravity of your name.
I am returning to the girl I was
before I learned to play your game.
I choose to keep you in my life,
hoping my stay will make you see—
that I love you for exactly who you are,
not the mistakes you try to flee.
You are not scared of intimacy.
You are terrified to be perceived.
Petrified to dismantle the barricades
your careful hands achieved.
