the broken girls savior
I see the ones who stayed, through the shake and the seize,
Kneeling by the wreckage, praying on their knees.
I never asked for patience, never earned the grace,
Just stood here, lighting fires in this lonely, fractured space.
I threw my own sharp edges, a weapon in the dark,
Leaving fresh, deep cuts and a cold, silent mark.
I watched you pick the shards up, bleeding in your hand,
Trying to put together the person I couldn't stand.
I know the price of silence, the cost of my retreat,
Every phone call missed, every promise bittersweet.
I chose the numb oblivion, the chemical slow fade,
While you held up the ceiling on the shelter I unmade.
You saw the ghost of the needle, the tremor in the voice,
And still you made the brutal, heartbreaking choice—
To cling to the thread, the smallest, fading clue,
That some part of the old me might still be breaking through.
They say love is a weapon, and mine was aimed at me,
But the shrapnel hit the bystanders, the ones who wouldn't flee.
I was lost in the chaos, caught in the undertow,
Begging for the freedom that only letting go could know.
And yet, you never let go, you never turned your back,
You are the only reason I found the way back on the track.
So if the lights go out, and the static fills the air,
And I'm pinned beneath the weight of this crushing, deep despair,
Just know your presence, your refusal to depart,
Is the only solid anchor for my terrified, stone heart.
You are the living proof that a fighter still remains,
The reason I still crawl out from the crushing, constant rains.
I can't repay the debt, the worry, or the fear,
But to those I love, for sticking around this long, I'm here.
I'm here, I'm fighting, and I owe my life to you.
The broken, messy truth of the things I couldn't do.
