The End

And from the depth, I hung my head— I knew not where I had tread to, Darkness obstructed my own hand. Vision had been rendered as inept. A cold chain— Had chosen its place on my wrists. And my breath froze the tight air; Air came in panicked gasps. And my throat was raw, And my legs were made numb; No light entered my sight. It was silent other than my sharp breath. Sores covered my skin, And I felt the fluid pulse— Heard the beat of my heart within my ear. Ka-thump, ka-thump. I felt my blood boil inside my vessel— And darkness encapsulated my hollow heart. And as I stared into the dark, It stared back— I was staring back at myself. It was I. And I heard a shut of the prison door— It was shut— Forevermore.

Might want to consider changing "where I tread to..." to past tense, trod.
