The Final Dance
My wrinkled fingers lace with yours
And the final dance begins
The atmosphere pulls us closer
Our orchestra lights up within
We lived a long life together,
Never married
Never felt so apart
And after waiting so long
Our two flesh will become one
The ending was so slow
Bending spacetime as I made you turn
And everyone can hear the beat
But it feels like there’s no one there
It’s just you and me
And the closer we are,
The the closer we reach the end of our song
While our dance was slow
Our death was fast
For when our two flesh became one
Our organs didn’t last
Bits and pieces of our heart falter
Until we couldn’t take it anymore
And we burst
Waves of matter fly
And we
Well
We died
But knowing the possibility of a new world and a new life one day
Has never felt so close
Yet this black void looks far away
