The hopeless romantic

I am the hopeless romantic the one who never stops Putting my life up for others till my time drops Doesn’t matter if i have known you long or just a couple days I put my life up for you to stay I’ll protect you with everything i have Till i physically can’t anymore Dosen’t matter if i can’t i give you more 'Cause the truth is I'm terrified of being alone, The house is cold when the love I knew is gone. I see the shattered pieces, the wreckage in the air, And I try to mend the damage with a love that's always there. I cling to the us, the fragile, broken plea, Hoping that my presence will somehow finally set you free. It's a desperate calculation, a twisted, heavy cost, If I hold on tight enough, maybe nothing will be lost. I’m the fool who buys the lie, the savior in the fray, The one who fights your battles every single day. But when the smoke clears, and the final debt is due, The only heart that’s broken, darling, is still mine, not you. I am the giver of life for the one who takes it all, Waiting for the moment that you finally let me fall. But even then, I swear, with my last, ragged breath, I’ll still be whispering, I loved you to death.
