The Midnight Screenshot

A glowing pane of glass captures the text: "I want to see you now," it read. The digital timestamp marks the exact hour, A quiet 1:36 AM suspended in blue light. I stare at the pixelated memory and whisper, you're funny. A quiet laugh trapped behind my teeth. Because the walls here have ears, And my world is bound by strict rules. If only my parents didn't watch the front door. If only I didn't share this crowded room. If only my eyes hadn't closed so early. If only, if only, if only.
