THE MOON IS ASLEEP.

There is no moon not a waking star in sight to salute me as I come all is hidden behind the sable heart of night. And briefly quietly I think of you and of our days In the ripe, red sun when we danced and feasted, on the fullness of our fruit tonight I shall not dance only rinse my mind of the liquid memories we made when twilight carried your laughter away now, there is a hollow space the moon is asleep And my heart is dead buried beneath a sky of aloneness
