Cold morning light, filtering through the blinds, another day begins
Under the weight of Sertraline, where do all my feelings spin?
A half-empty mug of tea, the same old melody in my head
A couple Prozacs in, maybe I’ll feel nothing instead
The city sleeps outside, but my mind is wide awake, just numb
the world keeps spinning faster, but I’m perfectly still, I guess
Just trying to find a flicker, in this endless emptiness.
Under the weight of Sertraline, a modern rhythm starts to beat
A couple Prozacs, now I'm pumping dopamine, but nothing feels complete
Lost in the mundane moments, can’t even raise a frown
My voice is a little hazy, I'm screaming for an echo, 'cause this numbness has become my all
Staring at the ceiling, counting cracks, but not the tears
About how I'm doing just fine, silencing all my fears
They tell me to get out more, to find some joy and peace
But sometimes this quiet void is the only true release
And this medicine, it's a muffle, a filter on the pain
Keeping me perfectly steady, through the sunshine and the rain
But there's no longing for a crescendo, just a flat, unchanging line
Please, God, just break this feeling, I need a true design
Maybe it’s just me, this numbness, this endless, drifting haze
I'm begging for a feeling, through these long and empty days
No burst of pure emotion, no harmony so sweet
Just this quiet stillness, perfectly incomplete.
Caught in this modern feeling, won't a real feeling ever come? I just want to feel!
Under the weight, but I'm still playing, still trying to find my way
Through the bittersweet echoes, at the end of every day.
I write about the same thing! I thought I was the only one. it is so cool to read this! keep writing. this is amazing.
