The Path of Least Resistance

Two Brothers, having come of age to make their decision, stood at a diverging road

two signs mounted signaling each's propsed destination

the brother on the left stood in front of "Knowledge"

the one on the right, "Skill"

"You won't be happy", the left brother warned his twin,

"You can have all of the skill in the world but knowledge is the true path to wealth and happiness"

the one on the right grew up knowing his brother had superior intellect but had supreme confidence in his own passion

"Purpose brings satifaction, and satisfaction, happiness" He replied

and so they set off on their different paths hoping they would reconvene once again

the left went on to become a great professor studying at many asteemed universities

the right honed his skills dreaming of building the greatest and most mrvelous gallions of the new era

fifteen years later the brother from the left path approached the shipwright of his current residence to build him a ship to explore the new world

he appeared in his likeness

"Brother!" He exclaimed

he regretted his superior tone from the last time they met and apoligized

"But Brother" the one from the right path exclaimed

"There is no need to be sorry, I have lived my dream,

designed and built the ships I have dreamed about and travelled the world"

"But what have you accomplished?"

the brother full of knowledge and esteem lowered his head and knew his stories of books and essays would not captivate his well travelled compadre

the skilled brother placed a hand on his shoulder

"Come, let me build you a ship that would put your estate to shame

and lets travel to every new land together and create tales that will be sung by generations to come"

"Im sorry I was wrong" said the brother full of knowledge

"No, we were both right" said the brother full of content

This poem describes a dilemma faced by almost every young adult in our society.

What to do after highschool. There are many options: going directly into work, going to trade school, or going to a university.

This Epic describes how all are viable options as long as you find satisfaction in what you do.

This is true regarldess of wealth, reputation, or recognition. Our paths may differ, but our motivations are what drive us

to make something of ourselves. And if you are motivated you cannot fail.
