The Song of Love and Loss

The musician gained a love so great To only end with tragic fate He traveled to the world below To find the one he loved so He played his song with grief so deep That even death began to weep He begs to the king with desperate pleas And is offered back what he came to see The one rule he must obey Do not turn to look her way Yet as the doubt grows greater still He turns to glance against his will And as she begins to fade He knows the promise he betrayed And he is left to wander alone With only sorrow as his own
