The storms within us.
If I had a wish
That would just last a day
I would wish
For the crashing waves of my blood
To be gentle
And not a roaring flood
Taking everything away from me
For the storm in my head
To become a light patter
Like a spring rain
Constant but manageable
For the voices that echo
To be a light
Instead of bringing eternal darkness
For the thorns in my skin
To dull and retract
So others can see within
They can see me
And not my armor
For my voice to crack like lightning
To be beautiful, dangerous
So my pains and thoughts
Are heard
For me to stand like a tall oak
And face my fears
And fight for my desires
And not shake at the slightest wind
And for my lungs
To breathe deep and true
To let the life flow through
To close my eyes
And be comfortable in my own skin
That is my wish
Of peace
For a day
For my storms to clear
For our storms to pass
