The sweet release of death

Sitting on the concrete, Fighting with my pain, Eyes dried from the misery, I let myself regain. Weak was my heart, Bleeding once again, Watching the roof, Searching for a rope, Yet again, still waiting to be saved, Never quite broken up with hope. Standing on the tracks, Waiting for the cold-blooded death in wheels, It will do the dirty work, The worms will get their meals. I’ll rot in dirt, from which we all are made, Death will free me from this twisting in my heart, goddamn blade. Can’t take it anymore, eyes thirsty for more tears, But now they’re only sore. Ashes to ashes, he will say, My soul will finally fly away. The eternal dream, Luring me, tempting me, Salvation whispers in my ear, So sweet is the dream. Peace at last, No one will miss my presence, While the words are echoing in the distance: “Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust.”
