The Type of Love I Long For

I long for the kind of love that turns a house into the first place my heart runs to. The kind of love that makes leaving difficult, not because I am afraid of the world, but because I know what waits for me at home: warmth that asks for nothing, laughter that reaches every room, an embrace so complete that the weight of yesterday slips quietly from my shoulders. In those arms, there is only now, and every tomorrow. I long for the kind of love that feels like the ocean. The kind that arrives as a gentle breeze, soft enough to quiet every storm within me, strong enough to remind me that I am still alive. A love that kisses my skin like tiny droplets carried by the wind, refreshing me instead of drowning me, teaching me that peace can have a heartbeat. I long for the kind of love that grows old beautifully. Like autumn leaves that surrender their branches without surrendering their beauty. They fall, they scatter, they crackle beneath waiting feet, and somehow they still whisper, Life is here. I want a love that ages like that changing, never fading. I long for the kind of love that never makes solitude feel like an escape. The kind that doesn’t make me dream of distant places simply to breathe. The kind that doesn’t convince me I would be happier alone. Instead, I long for the love that lets me sit in silence and smile without knowing why. The kind that makes ordinary moments feel like answered prayers. The kind that lets me look across the room and think, This is where my soul has chosen to rest. That is the type of love I long for. Not perfect. Not effortless. Just peaceful enough that my heart no longer mistakes survival for love.
