The Wish That Could Give Back

If I got one wish I would never know what to do with it My brain is a rolling sea of possibilities And I don't think I could ever live by only choosing one But if I could only pick one wish It would be that my friends live their dream lives and would those lives most likely leave Me out of the picture? Probably. But my friends are my whole world, Not my family, just my friends Because when it comes to my family, the only thing we share is blood Because my family has stabbed me in the back But I know that if I got my wish, And if my friends all moved on, At least my friends, my Chosen Family Would at least let me down slowly But my Chosen Family means more than my real one ever will Because my Chosen Family: They are my Rock, My Life Preserver My Anchor My Everything They taught me who God is And helped me learn who I am They have loved me and guided me the whole way My Chosen Family are the only reason I haven't run yet Although they won't ever know it They won't ever know how much they mean to me, And I hope that if my wish was granted It could show them how far they have brought me By me bringing them the same distance

A young girl chasing a dream that can't be caught, Holding onto hope that is too far gone Losing her mind trying to help others get theirs back Prayers go unanswered no matter what she does It's the life of no one, no one but me
