Theatre

Theatre, theatre, How it can closely resemble our lives We tend to criticize, dramatize! Our heads can become oversized And yet, we’re masters of disguise! How could you be scandalous We’d never do that on our own! We never prod the common lad Or the King upon his throne! The wretched, adulterous woman And her do no wrong groom One or both is telling an awful lie We’ll find out which one soon! The evil witch, to the heartsick lovers Or Rapunzel with her draping hair Poverty, prejudice, you just name it We’ll tackle everything out there! Theatre, theatre Life is but a production on the grandest stage It’s in different rooms, different places And yet, it’s all the same! And with all the time that has passed It still has yet to fade
