In their eyes
Click Click Click.
Pointy black heels into thin white legs,
plastic wrapped waist into perky pink breasts,
slim silk throat into full red lips, make those cheek bones pop.
Eyes blacker than the coffee pot, skin like milk.
Blonde on blonde on blonde, don't let the roots show.
110-115, don't tip that scale.
I'm the doll you never took out of the box as a child.
I'm the reason for your insecurities.
Flash.
Give me the screen, the page, the attention.
Stare me up and down, pierce my plastic and bruise my soul.
I'm the one, bring me home. Take the ride and pay the toll.
Paint my nails and brush my hair,
Sit up straight and be prepared.
Go out to dinner, don't eat too much, or else I'll have to throw it up.
Maintain, maintain, maintain, too much, not enough.
Get it right or not at all.
Come on, be their Barbie doll.
"You're too pretty for that."
"You're too smart for that."
"You're too good for me."
You're too...too....too.....too...... click.
In their eyes, I'm flawless.
