Then Life becomes...

You’re laughing, As you reminisce on happier times. But then one sharp word, Can burn like a scrape. Then life becomes colder. The scrape once caused, From falling off a bike. Is now a reopened wound, From the same who once cared for you. Then life becomes colder. That wound, Desires not only physical doctoring. The lack of emotional attention needed, Causes temporary bandages to break. Then Life becomes colder. Sigh. Cry. Question why. Then stand back up. Then life becomes radiant.
