Then-Now-After

My feet would take me to the ends of the world
My hands would mush water and dirt to make mud patties
My eyes would watch the disney movies that filled the screen
My brain would dream the biggest dreams
My voice would tell my mom the wildest things

It happened over time i just didn't see the changes
Went from digging up dirt to make mud patties
To digging up the dirt to make a hole for me

It went from being afraid of the dark
To sitting alone in it
From tantrums
To panic attacks
From growing up to giving up

My feet now walk from point A to B
My hands now are making a mess of things
My eyes now are staring blankly ahead of me
My my brain now is stuck in a loop of confusion and uncertainty
My voice now is a form of communication lost in translation

It's a story that seems to have lasted ages
Where's ones mentality is filled with insecurities
But it's alright with me

For now im sitting alone
After im rejoicing in the light of my phone
From panic attacks to soothing acts
From giving up to getting up

It happens slowly
From then to now to after
Knowing that means
Im still growing
