Therapy Session Part 1
The Chesnut door opening
I'm considering but… forgetting
I am shown a smile
That settles my denial
In my youth
Far away was the truth
The words “I’ll be right out”
I believe without a doubt
Anxiety is my rope
That pulls me down when her words give me hope
As I remember my fears
My eyes fill up with tears
Knowing that this is temporary and…
To me that is scary
The room is covered in lavender with a sprinkle of vanilla beans
The warmth from words intervenes
As I reflect
I am no longer the suspect
I'm on the edge of the couch
When I think
Outcomes and ouch
Waiting for her to freak
My eyes travel to the floor
¨Would you like to talk about this more?¨
Looking at the relaxing colors and shapes
¨No¨ I explain when they see my scrapes
Scribble goes her pen
I count to ten
She takes a sip
I bite my lip
