There

As the miles grow wider

I feel my heart break

Because in order for

Your happiness

Mine must be taken away

We’ve spent time apart before

But this time is different

This time you are the one

Who has left me behind

And not I

Leaving you

The routine is over now

There is no expectation

Of you waiting for me

With a kiss and a smile

And maybe a little coffee

But you are not here

And I so wish you were

But I know this trip

Will be good for you

Even if it pains me

You're having the time

Of your life

Enjoying the sights

And attractions of

My home city

If only I could

Be with you and

Enjoy my city

With you

I miss you

I love you

I wish you

Were here

Or that I

Was there
