There is Always

Each morning, the world moves from brief respite

Into the insanity of Life.

Cars fill the streets, the sound of horns clogs the air,

But the thing with feathers seems to float atop the cares of the world.

Hope

Chirrups cheerfully,

Chastising the thunder that threatens to thicken the already loud atmosphere.

People say that all they have to do is make it through one more day,

One more assignment, one more test, one more week, one more year,

High school, College, Work, Life.

And Hope

Keeps them searching for something worth seeking.

Hope

Keeps them on their feet, on their toes,

Leaning, looking, antsy with anticipation.

The glimpse of a feather, proof that something lies beyond the boundaries of Life,

Something that they know is there that they have not yet discovered.
