There Are Always Ways
There are always ways,
Back, up, down, sideways,
Through the door and behind the shade,
There are always ways,
Impossible and acceptable,
Forbidden and permitted,
Collected and disconnected,
There are always ways,
The simplest mistake,
The invisible correction,
Magic in its wake,
This mystical misdirection,
There are always ways,
Made by this magician,
Whose great mission,
And formidable resolution,
Is that there are always ways.
And in this modest secrecy,
Filled with incomprehensibility,
The gentle mystery of history:
There are always ways to get out.
