There I sat

Everyone wore black.

Sure, it was a funeral,

That was granted,

But it was the funeral of a person

Who did not deserve

Nearly a hundred people

All dressed in black.

So there I sat.

Front and centre.

Wearing bright pink.

As they read her eulogy,

Not even nearly capturing everything she had done,

Everything she had been

So there I sat.

On the edge of tears

Resisting the urge to jump up

And correct them

To prove how much she was and always will be

But everyone clapped

As her coffin was lowered

But my love for her rose
