There, In the Middle of the Small French Cafe
There, in the middle of the small French cafe,
I am now overlooking China’s Great Wall,
All in just one turn of a page.
Whether at night, or during the day,
I have the power to try new things, to travel
There, in the middle of the small French cafe.
My fingers covered with paper cuts (all fixed with a band-aid)
I can visit India and be home by nightfall.
All in just one turn of a page.
I’ve ridden on broomsticks, fought a dragon in a cage,
Tried to kill a whale with a man for survival,
There, in the middle of the small French cafe.
Never fearful, never afraid
Oh! the many things I can do with words and my eyeball,
All in just one turn of a page.
Books give me adventures, all the while being safe,
Because of them I am allowed to do what I love, that is, to travel
There, in the middle of the small French cafe
All in just one turn of a page.
