there is no prison to hold me

How does one be original; In a world that wants conformity

How does one stay true to their heart; When all hearts do is break

How do you filter your mouth; When it is what makes the truest of sounds

How do you bear you mask; In a world that takes you at face value

I take my stand; By breaking all of “their” rules

I am my truth; By wearing my heart on my sleeve

I speak my truth; By using my words like a sword of purity

I shed my mask; By breaking the chains “they” would have me bear

Life is not a “one-size-fit-all” ordeal and it only as original as we make it

Life is not a thing to be lied about and it cannot be tossed away lightly

Life is the truest of truths and the hardest on to hear

Life is not able to hidden away and that is why it is so to bear

I am my own person with my own path; I am my own person with my own soul

I am my own person with my own truth; I am my own person with my own way

I will not be filtered; I will not be hidden away

I will not be beaten; I will not surrender
