There She Stood.....

There she stood So close but yet so far away And I stood and yearned for the day That I could be the one she loved..... Yet she was so very far from me So far out of reach she seemed to be That there was little chance that she could see The depth of my affection Was there hope? Was there even a chance? That she could perhaps simply spare a glance? And gaze at me so deep in love And love me freely as a dove And spare upon me the feelings of An angel....envied by love There she stood, oblivious And here I stand so envious That one so angelic such as her Could pass my mind in such a blur Feelings deep inside me did so stir At the mere sight of her...... I stood unnoticed My eyes so focused On the beauty which stood in my presence There she stood So slight of size Without one fault Seen by my eyes All doubts of her I do despise For she.....is my treasure There she stood Then did depart And with her left My beating heart For it is hers Though she knows not Of all the battles Which I have fought For just one chance One ray of hope Though I did slip Down that slippery slope Which we insist on calling "love" There she stood And there she went For the flame in my heart At last was spent......
