There wasn't Enough.

    Dear Grandma Lou,

I miss you and I wish we had more time,

     But there just wasn’t enough.

          There wasn’t enough time.

We picked pears off the ground,

And tended to the roses in the garden.

We had all the time in the world then,

But it’s gone now, and I am here without you.

We would call and see each other,

Writing letters every week,

And now that has ended like so much,

Because there just wasn’t enough\

There wasn’t enough time.

I think about you most days and nights.

I wish we had more.

More memories, more laughs, more prayers,

More hugging, more time.

There just wasn’t enough.

There wasn’t enough time to tell you goodbye,

There wasn’t enough time to hug you one last time,

There wasn’t enough time tell you how much I love you.

There just wasn’t enough.

There wasn’t enough time to do and say all the things I never got to,

There just wasn’t enough time with you.
