There's a Man
There's a man, he's locked up and
he's looking through the glass.
He's a man, who laughs too fast
when people walk on past.
He thinks a lot, thinks people rot
when they don't think enough.
Examines life, he knows he's right
While writing through his stuff.
While the people swim in oceans...
the salty shiver beaches...
all the people feeling more than he'll
Ever Know.
There's a man, he's closed off and
he writes his book at last.
Talks about, the sea breeze and
the gulls that fly on past.
He thinks a lot, thinks all we've got
to do is make some sense.
His metaphors, are such a bore
perhaps my skull's too dense.
While the people swim in oceans...
the salty shiver beaches...
all the people feeling more than he'll
Ever Know.
There's a man, who pressed his hand
against the window pane.
Never dove, into the sea
or smelled the musty rain.
He thinks a lot, about the man
he makes up on the page.
He writes a song, thinks nothing's wrong
when he's inside a cage.
While the people swim in oceans...
the salty shiver beaches...
all the people feeling more than he'll
Ever Know.
