There's More Than Just This

Dear R.C,

The moment I met you I knew something was there

We talked and talked but I knew this couldn't go anywhere

You were my best friends' brother

So, I let you go

But little did I know

You would still have a hold on my heart

Three years later I reached out

To see if anything would reappear

For me new feelings came about

But you still held some fears

At least that's what you told me

And now another year has gone by

But I still can't care for another guy

So I reach out again

But you tell me you are in love with someone else

So I accept and move on

You reach out and ask how I've been

I say fine

You say you want to give us a try

I say why?

You say you're finally ready

I was excited, giddy

Until I realized deep down he wasn't so pretty

He only wanted me for my body

And when I said no he asked why?

I realized I didn't need this guy

I had finally moved on

But will he?

Sincerely,

Me
