There's No Cure for Failure

I've come to realize that there's no cure.

All the medications and tests cannot save me.

They can poke, shock, and prescribe,

Hand me surveys that turn my pain into numbers,

Send pulses to my brain to scare my sadness away,

But the thoughts always come back.

Just because there's no gun to my head or cuts on my wrists,

Doesn't mean I'm not hurting.

The reality is: I'm a failure.

There's no cure for that.
