There's A Place

Because you love me

I trust you

Because you love me

you are above all

Because you love me

I love you

There’s a special place in my heart for you

A place that’s rotten,

scarred, and bruised

but nonetheless content

There’s a place where your darkness is my happiness

and where your burdens rest

it’s a place that’s dying

but has hopes of living

living with you

There’s a place in my dreams,

and that’s a place for you too,

where we love instead of hate

where we’re happy

where you’re good

and those dreams

those dreams are the ones that keep me going

they’re the ones that lead me back to you

they’re the ones that whisper at night

“You're nothing and you have no clue”

You live inside me

thrive on this weakness

thrive on this love for you

There’s a place inside me

because you live inside me

and it’s all dedicated to you.

Because I love you

I cry

Because I love you

I hate

Because I love you

I don’t love myself

But I love you

It shows the harships of a relationship and how one person can feel the pain but put it aside for someone else who doesn't care.

This poem is about an unstable relationship that surrounds mental abuse. It doesn't show the actions of either subjects, but rather the emotions going on inside them. There is such a thing as mental abuse and not much attention is brought to that aspect of a relationship.
