These Are My Guarantees

This work is exhausting Fifteen hour days on six hours of sleep six days a week, but I’m still going I’m still showing this city all I’ve got I’m not done here I love the vibe, the life, the sheer art that navigating and bus hopping and sky watching and people stalking and talking and walking, walking, walking… Inspiration wraps its hands around my ankles, tripping me I’m sipping in the skyline sunrise Sighing while finding the secret city corners Strangers meet me with bright eyes and big stories I’m warring with poverty here Drug scenes and ripped jeans raking my throat with screams The crime geniuses in DC are at it again But I feel sent I’m bent on serving for all my worth, with all my courage I’m braving these city streets Don’t expect to meet me and defeat me With God in my fist, I can’t be beat

Writing is my form of self-expression. Words are powerful and can change attitudes, situations, and lives. I am grateful to be able to draw on language to reach others and to understand myself. Check out my blog at wordsareaneed.blogspot.com. I'd love to hear from you so feel free to leave me feedback! I've also been featured on Science Rhymes.
